It’s important to give students a chance to interact outside of the classroom and extracurricular activities and organizations are a great way to do that. Henry Abbott Technical High School has a wide range of options including everything from Student Council and National Honor Society to Chess Club and Yearbook.
Current Clubs and Activities
Chess Club/Game Club
Come learn and play chess, no experience necessary. We are forming a team to send to the CTECS chess tournament in June. The team meets Thursdays after school. Other gamers are welcome to come and play Risk, Scrabble, Munchkin, Yu-Gi-Oh and Magik.
Leo’s Club
The Leo Club is a community service club. We meet the first and third Thursday of every month during the school year, where we plan fundraisers and community service Projects. A liaison from the Lion’s Club attends our meetings. Our goal is to complete one project per month.
National Honor Society
The National Honor Society is an organization promoting recognition for students with outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership and service.
SkillsUSA
Come use your club time to practice and prepare for the SkillsUSA competition. Interested in competing in Skills for the first time? Check out www.skillsusa.org/ct.
Student Council
The Student Council represents the voice of the students in the democratic management of student affairs at Abbott Tech. It is the organization through which the administration, faculty and staff as well as the student body cooperate in addressing the concerns of the school.
Yearbook Club
Be part of the group who designs the annual yearbook. Work will be done online, at home and during club days.
