Engineer Girl at Abbott Tech

Jennifer Villa, a senior at Henry Abbott Tech, was selected as one of six high school students in the nation as an Engineer Girl Ambassador. She is attending the Society of Women Engineers conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota this week. Jen will be accompanied by Georgiana Colon, an Abbott Tech grad who is now a junior in Engineering at RPI. Both young women are/were in the MDET (Mechanical Design and Engineering Technology) program at Abbott.

Ms. Kelly, a science teacher at Abbott, introduced students to the opportunity. Jennifer pursued it and chose Ms. Kelly to be her mentor.

Girls from the local middle schools will be invited to participate in her Engineer Girl events here at Abbott Tech.
